The Boston Minutemen Division actually started as the Boston Division in 1998. The Commanding Officer was LT E.P. West
haven. The Executive Officer was WO2 Coleman, Training Officer  SGT. Downey. The division conducted their drills out of
the Coast Guard Station Boston. In the 90’s the division had become the number one division in the region. They maintained
the highest standards of discipline and quality training.
Unfortunately due to 9/11 the now LCDR Westhaven was shipped overseas to Iraq in 2000 and the division was shut
down. In June 2003 the division started back up and Command was turned over to LTJG Marion Martin, and remained
the Paul Revere Division. The division drilled a year under that name and out of Camp Curtis Guild. But as the war
Iraqi Freedom picked up, the division had to make one last move to Gloucester High School.
The division was also authorized to change its name due to another division having the same name in California, so the cadets
decided they wanted to honor not just one man.  They wanted to honor all the men of the Revolutionary War.  Minutemen was
the name of the brave men who defied an empire so that we could be free, but they also wanted to include part of the original
division’s name.  So, they came up with Boston Minutemen Division.
Today the division drills at Gloucester High School and also has been granted access to the World War 2 destroyer,
the USS Cassin Young at the Charleston Navy yard in Boston across from the USS Constitution.
